Syndee Winters

I was born in New York, Miami raised and I’m a Chinese Jamaican Cuban American.  As an artist, I have been able to cross over several genres like pop, reggae, R&B, and hip-hop and have disciplines such as singing, acting, and dancing. In my spare time, I love to travel the world coaching workshops and impacting the lives of young artists. The theater has no borders. We share one language and that is the language of emotion through song, dance and spoken word.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Five Towns College which helped launch my career on Broadway. Along the way, I picked up new tools, honed my skills, and impressively grew my resume to what it is today.

As a recording artist, I have written and released several singles, EPs, and even a full-length Lena Horne tribute album called Lessons from a Lady. You can hear my voice on tracks by artists such as Snoop Dogg, Big Daddy Kane, and Grandmaster Flash.

In 2018, I was alongside John Legend in the Grammy-nominated and Emmy winning cast of NBC’s LIVE Jesus Christ Superstar. As a Broadway veteran, I have also performed in Motown the Musical, Pippin, Hamilton: An American Musical, and my debut as “Nala” in Disney’s The Lion King!

I am constantly inspired by the art of storytelling, my latest writing project celebrates the life of American icon, Lena Horne, in a one-woman play with music entitled, LENA: A Moment with a Lady. I portray “Lena” and attempt to relate the most pivotal personal and professional moments in her life. Join me on this mission to share the truth and unexpectedly open the emotional crevices that have eluded myself for years.
